Suffolk Coast - beach at Southwold

Coastal Walks

We are very close to the Heritage Coast of Suffolk, where you can make the most of coastal walks, yachting, wildlife, pubs, shops and restaurants, or on a sunny day, the beaches.

Ipswich Tourist Office has plenty of information to suit your interests. (www.ipswich.gov.uk/tourism)

There are riverside walks along both sides of the peninsula on the Orwell and Stour rivers.

At Felixstowe you can buy fish direct from the fishermen. You can also take the ferry across the river to Bawdsey.

Other walks and information can be found on www.suffolkcoastal.gov.uk/yourfreetime

The River Deben, too, offers plenty of opportunity for exploring the countryside and well known towns such as Woodbridge and if you want to explore more of the Suffolk coast you could drive to the Ramsholt Arms which sits on the water’s edge.
